A Gathering of Flemington Stakeholders
Business and commercial property owners came together Tuesday (10/6) evening at Lone Eagle Brewing and Wednesday (10/7) for a meeting to network, socialize, and learn more about the Flemington Improvement District (FID).
The presentation began with remarks from Board Chair, Toni Gushue, and the Council Liaison to the Board, Tony Parker, thanking the stakeholders for investing and believing in Flemington.
Ally Norton, the executive director, reintroduced of Love Flemington by guiding the attendees through the five pillars the organization is built on: Advocacy for Stakeholders, Streetscape Improvements, Economic Development Planning, Recruitment and Retention of Businesses, and Marketing & Events in Service of Economic Development.
Norton continued by highlighting the "wins" of the organization in the past 8 months since she was named executive director. She recapped the change of the zoning ordinance, sculpting a new Love Flemington Brand identity, the success of events like the Corn Tomato & Beer Festival, streetscape beautification, supporting sign & event grants for businesses, and more.
Norton concluding each meeting by opening up the floor to the stakeholders to give their thoughts and ask question. Discussions began over concerns about parking and local business owners reflected on the potential of the growth in Flemington and the collaboration between businesses.
