Meet brother and sister duo, Joe & Rose Mannino of the Italian Bakery off Reaville in Flemington. Rose and Joe have been in business since 1985 in the very same location. They bake fresh daily, all the pastries and breads you see here! Joe is here at 4:30 a.m. every morning, working on the baked goods. They pride themselves on authenticity. They use the recipes their father brought over to the United States from Sicily. The Italian Bakery is known for its cannolis, Danish, fresh daily baked bread, and of course cappuccino & espresso! They both live and work in Flemington. They love this business they created because they love the relationships they’ve built. “It stops with us. As long as we can do this, we will. There is no other generation coming, so we have to keep on going”, states Rose. The customers were in and out the entire time we visited. You can tell the customers are regulars. They come out every day and get their special treats, sit down, and chew the fat. There is a true sense of comfort and community here at the bakery. They are open Tuesday -Sunday. Closed on Monday.
