Flemington Announces Dynamic 2020 Calendar of Events

The Flemington Community Partnership has released the 2020 Calendar of Events, a packed slate of seasonal events highlighting the music, arts, classic cars, culinary and cultural gems that Flemington has to offer visitors and locals alike.  Flemington is celebrating improvements to Main Street including new sidewalks, lamp posts, trees and benches.  Events hosted on Main Street in 2020 will include the Flemington Car Shows every other Saturday and the Central Jersey Jazz Festival.  A full line-up of events are scheduled throughout Flemington including Main Street, Stangl Road and Turntable Junction, and the Shopping Plazas.
Spring begins with delicious food at Flemington Spring Restaurant Week March 8-13th. Kelly (left) and Stacy Casanova’s Blue Fish Grill is one of the many participating Flemington restaurants offering fabulous three course Prix-Fixe Menus.

 

The popular Flemington Car Shows return to a newly renovated Main Street beginning May 30th and repeating every other Saturday through September 5th.
MARCH
Taste of Flemington Spring Restaurant Week, Sunday 3/8 – Friday 3/13.
Over 15 restaurants with specially curated seasonal and farm to table dishes and great deals including 3 course prix-fixe dinner Menus for $25 or $35.
Makers Day, Flemington DIY, Saturday 3/21, 11am-3pm. A celebration across NJ, Maker’s Day celebrates hands-on making, tinkering, crafting, and learning. This all-ages event includes screen printing, knitting, collage making, vision boards and more.
Monroe Micelli Jazz Duo, Flemington DIY, Saturday 3/21, 8pm.  A unique jazz duo (violin & vibes), the duo draws upon their collective experiences growing up in the ‘70’s with popular music, R & B, blues, folk, jazz and classical. This event is part of Flemington DIY’s renowned Jazz Series.
THE BAND Band, Stangl Stage, Saturday 3/28, 8pm. THE BAND Band is the only nationally touring band dedicated exclusively to the accurate reproduction of The Band’s music. BYOB.

Vamos Flemington Health Fair & Super Hero Sprint, Fulper Road, Saturday 4/18, 10am-2pm. Free workshops, health screenings, fun activities, and events for kids hosted by the United Way of Hunterdon County. New this year – Super Hero Sprint for kids!

Peter Lin’s TNT Quartet, Flemington DIY, Saturday 4/25, 8pm.  Peter Lin’s TNT Quartet features JD Allen on tenor saxophone, Ian Kenselaar on bass, and Nic Cacioppo on drums. In 2019 the group recorded New Age Old Ways. This event is part of Flemington DIY’s renowned Jazz Series.

Cinco de Mayo Festival, Saturday 5/2. The second annual festival will be held at Turntable Junction and benefits the United Way of Hunterdon. Festivities include authentic Mexican food, music, dancing and artisans, making it a great day for the whole family!
International Female Ride Day – Flemington, Stangl Factory, Saturday 5/2, 12-8pm. A day long event to promote and celebrate women in motorcycling. All genders invited to ride, support and build this community celebrating the common bond between all moto enthusiasts!
Flemington Flea and Town-Wide Yard Sale, Saturday and Sunday 5/16 & 5/17 – Attention treasure hunters – spend the day perusing downtown antique and vintage shops, sidewalk sales and yard sales.

ArtVenture Plein Air Festival, Saturday 5/16, 9am-4pm. Reception and auction 5-7pm. Artists are invited to paint throughout Flemington’s downtown area, and the public is invited to tour the historic district and see the artists in action.

Memorial Day Parade, Monday 5/25. Enjoy a patriotic parade on historic Main Street with local high school marching bands, antique cars, and Flemington’s celebrated antique fire truck, Old Betsy.

Jeremy Dutton, Flemington DIY, Saturday 5/30, 8pm.  Drummer Jeremy Dutton is poised to become the next major voice on his instrument and is already being lauded as a rising star in music.  This event is part of Flemington DIY’s renowned Jazz Series.
Girls on the Run 5k, Sunday 5/31, Court Street Park, 3pm (5pm race start). This celebratory, non-competitive 5K event is the culmination of the Girls on the Run season.
The Flemington Corn, Tomato, and Beer Festival returns this summer on August 8th on Stangl Road with fresh corn and tomato dishes, a NJ craft beer garden, live music, kids activities and fun for all ages.
JUNE

Queen for a Night, Thursday 6/4, 6pm, Attachments Jewelry and Sage Boutique. Gather your gal pals for a night out on the town. Win prizes and get pampered, swag bags with goodies fit for a queen. Hosted by Attachments Jewelry and Sage Boutique, this event is a fundraiser for the non-profit Avery’s Hope.

Fireworks! Friday 7/3. The fireworks display is back and sure to dazzle at Reading Fleming Intermediate School. Show at dusk, with a DJ to get you in the celebratory spirit.

Salsa Night, Stangl Road, Saturday 7/18. Enjoy local food, drink, entertainment, and vendors while dancing the night away to live salsa bands. This annual event is produced by the non-profit Hunterdon Helpline.
AUGUST

Flemington Corn, Tomato, Beer Festival, Stangl Road, Saturday 8/8. Foodies take note: New Jersey is the corn and tomato capital! Come raise a glass and celebrate the Garden State, featuring a micro-brewery beer garden, food from local restaurants, live music, entertainment and more! It’s a great day for the whole family to enjoy.

Central Jersey Jazz Fest, Friday 9/11 – 9/13. Join in on this 3-day, 3-county progressive jazz festival that starts in Flemington, heads to New Brunswick, and ends in Somerville. This event features an incredible lineup of all-star jazz groups. In addition to the jazz fest in Flemington on 9/11, guests are invited to further explore the arts with an Arts and Book Fair throughout the weekend. Details to be announced on loveflemington.com.

After last year’s successful event at the Flemington Filling Station, Oktoberfest is returning to Flemington and expanding into a daytime street festival on October 10th.

CEA Flemington Turkey Trot, Thursday 11/26, Main Street. This annual event has become a holiday tradition for many families and is the largest of its kind in the state. The Turkey Trot consists of a USATF-sanctioned 5K run and a 2-mile fitness walk. Costume-clad runners add to the festive atmosphere.
