Geoff Caldwell & Guy DeRosa Blues Concert at Flemington’s Stangl Stage

Think you have to go to Philly or NYC to hear “real” live blues? Think again.

Blues guitarist and vocalist Geoff Caldwell and harmonica player Guy DeRosa have been wowing audiences in NJ and Eastern PA with their authentic, soulful performances since the early 70s. “I love to sing, I love to feel my guitar vibrate against my body”, says Caldwell. He’ll be picking on his Gibson J-200 and sharing the unique sound of his rare 1927 National Tricone steel guitar.

Caldwell and DeRosa – and maybe an old friend or two – will play interpretations of standards by blues legends Son House, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Jimmy Cox, John Hurt, Tampa Red, Reverend Gary Davis, and others as well as a number of their own compositions. Caldwell describes his personal favorite, Reverend Gary Davis, as “full of passion, joy and beauty. He sings like a man possessed.”
